title: Still Into You

author: Erin Connor

publisher: Forever

publication date: February 10, 2026

pages: 352

peppers: 3 (on this scale)

warnings:

  • drug use (past)
  • alcohol
  • hangovers
  • pot smoking

summary: Sloane, who's working as a freelance music critic/writer, gets the chance of a lifetime: to write the first interview with a band that hasn't given any press insights in eight years. This article could get her the full-time writing job she wants, but it's going to be hard to stay objective and professional when the lead singer is the only man she's ever loved and one who broke her heart three years earlier.

tropes:

  • second-chance romance
  • we can't because of our jobs
  • famous-normal
  • writer's block
  • big break

what I liked:

  • great professions of love
  • fun dialogue
  • great scenes of concerts
  • fun interview scenes
  • good friendships separate from the romance

what I didn’t like:

  • n/a

overall rating: 5 (of 5 stars)

WHAT I DO

I serve as a class dean and teach English to high schoolers at a boarding school in Connecticut. I’ve earned a Bachelor of Arts (Amherst College), an Education Master in Learning and Teaching (Harvard University Graduate School of Education), a Master of Arts in English (Bread Loaf School of English), and most recently a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing with a certificate in the online teaching of writing (Southern New Hampshire University).

As a writer, I hope to capture the complexity and joy of life in the New England boarding school world. On this site, I share what I know about trying to write fiction while deaning, teaching English, coaching, and doing the other tasks associated with helping to raise over six hundred other people’s children.
